This stop was just what we needed after a long, tough day in the saddle, made all the harder by prolonged heavy rain. David could not have been more accommodating, despite our arriving over an hour and a half later than agreed, well muddied. Our room was clean and comfortable, the evening meal hearty, full of flavour and washed down with a quality wine. A good breakfast set us up for the run down to the coast, at which point we especially appreciated having our clothing dried overnight. Well worth the price, I would definitely stay again. My only criticism is that the signage from the Waskerley Way could be improved - we nearly rode past.

This was just what we needed after a hard day in the saddle. David could not have been more accommodating, despite our arrival over an hour and a half after the previously arranged time, well muddied. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our evening meal was hearty and flavoursome, washed down with a good bottle of wine. A good breakfast set us up for the final leg of the journey and we were particularly grateful for the overnight drying service that meant we didn't have to pull on wet shoes and clothing. Worth every penny, I'd stay here again without hesitation.

This is a good stop just off the route - however you are 8 miles from the nearest town. There was four of us and we stayed in an apartment with our own kitchenette and bathroom and Lounge which was perfectly adequate - if a little dated. The shower was small but piping hot - Perfect! David was a very thorough host accommodating all our needs with a great selection choice for breakfast cooked perfectly. We decided to take a cab into Consett in the evening rather than eat at the B+B but I am not sure this is advisable on a Sat night really. It felt very intimidating and we were told on a number of occasion that this is a tough working mans town. We were glad to get home to the B+B!!
